What to Expect on Smile Design Day
Before Your Appointment: Team Preparation
Before your appointment, the dental care team will go over your patient records and any photos our office has on file. This will allow us to get a brief refresher on your unique dental care needs. Don’t worry if you’ve never been here before or do not have much on file. We’ll fill in all of the details during the event.
During Your Appointment: Discuss Your Smile Goals
Patients who schedule a consultation on Smile Design Day will receive a complimentary one-hour appointment to sit down with experienced dental professionals to discuss your smile and what changes you would like to accomplish with cosmetic dentistry.
During your consultation, you’ll have an opportunity to share your chief concerns regarding your smile. Some common concerns you can address during your appointment include:
- Crooked teeth
- Misaligned bite
- Tooth discoloration
- Gum recession
- Calcification
- Broken or chipped teeth
- Worn teeth
- Missing teeth
- Gaps between teeth

Once we have explored your goals, it’s time to show you how your smile will look if we are able to complete treatment.
- You will receive a digital impression of your teeth using virtual 3D scanning technology that maps your smile.
- Your dentist or technician will take several portrait photos of you.
- Your care team will use advanced dental software to create a digital rendering of your future smile to show you what our world-class clinical team can do for you.
This process is fantastic for helping you envision what your smile could look like, and will give you hands-on time with our dental team to help you perfect your ideal look.
During Your Appointment: Relax!
Our staff has worked hard to cultivate a spa-like environment that will make you feel comfortable and relaxed as soon as you enter our office. Our Smile Design Event will be no different. Enjoy our heated pillows with essential oils, a paraffin wax hand-dip, and even a glass of champagne on us. You deserve a little pampering!
Sign Up for an Optional Wax-Up
During your appointment, you will also have the chance to try out another option for envisioning your future smile — a wax-up. This service is available for a fee (there is no charge for your appointment or your digital rendering) and it will provide the most complete picture of what your teeth will look like after completing your cosmetic dentistry plan.
A wax-up is exactly what it sounds like–a wax model of your teeth that will snap into place in your mouth so you can see exactly how an implant or crown will look and feel. While our digital renderings are excellent, many patients like that a wax-up shows them the truest picture of what cosmetic dentistry can accomplish. A wax-up allows you to view the modification of your existing smile in person. For some patients, it is a truly remarkable experience to finally see the smile they always wanted when they look into the mirror after placement.
You will have an opportunity to choose this service during your appointment. Our staff will address additional costs for a wax-up during your appointment.
