Dr. John Bocchi, DDS

Dr. John Bocchi is an accomplished dentist, entrepreneur, and innovator with over 20 years of experience in the dental field. He graduated from Marquette University Dental School in 2005 and founded Sierra Smiles Complete Health Dentistry in 2006, with the goal of integrating oral health into overall wellness. Today, he operates three successful locations across Northern Nevada, including in Reno and Lake Tahoe, where he continues to provide top-notch care to the community.

A leader in Complete Health Dentistry, Dr. Bocchi is deeply passionate about how oral health impacts overall well-being. His expertise extends beyond traditional dental care. In 2023, he founded Sierra Sleep Airway and Wellness to address airway health and sleep issues, offering innovative solutions to improve patients’ quality of life.

Dr. Bocchi is also one of the world’s foremost experts in cognitive health. He is the second dentist in the world to become certified in ReCODE 2.0, a groundbreaking program developed by Dr. Dale Bredesen, author of The End of Alzheimer’s. ReCODE 2.0 is a revolutionary approach to reversing cognitive decline, and Dr. Bocchi is proud to integrate these protocols into his patient care, helping people not only preserve their smiles but their cognitive health as well.

Dr. Bocchi’s outstanding work has earned him numerous awards and recognition, including being named Top Cosmetic Dentist by Reno Magazine, multi-time winner of Best Dentist in Northern Nevada by Reno News & Review, and Complete Health Dentist of the Year by Next Level Practice. He’s been featured on Channel 2 and Channel 4 News and recognized as a Top Dental CEO by Next Level Practice. He is also a Diplomate of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy and a mentor for CDOCS.

A past president of the Nevada Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Bocchi was named one of Reno Gazette Journal’s Top 40 Under 40, underscoring his leadership and impact both in dentistry and in his community.

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Bocchi enjoys spending time with his wife, Jen, and their two children, Keira and Kipton. He’s an avid outdoorsman with hobbies that include fishing, hiking, biking, snowboarding, camping, and boating. Travel and photography are also important passions, allowing him to capture moments with his family while exploring the world.

With a holistic approach to health, a passion for innovation, and a deep commitment to his patients and family, Dr. Bocchi continues to lead the way in both dentistry and cognitive health.

Meet Dr. Bocchi:

Dr. Samina Quidwai, DDS

Dr. Quidwai is passionate about dentistry because it allows her to team with individuals to help them be the best version of themselves. She believes everyone deserves a pain-free mouth and to have confidence in their smile. She loves to meet new people and strives to make patients feel heard and at ease in the dental chair. Her goal is to merge her compassion, knowledge, and cutting edge dental technologies to provide the highest quality care and dentistry. She believes oral health is a key component to systemic health and mental health, and is excited to be part of Sierra Smile’s complete health dentistry team in Lake Tahoe.

Originally from Spokane, Washington, Dr. Quidwai received both her undergraduate and dental degrees from University of Washington in Seattle. She has a passion for working with underserved populations, and has participated in dental humanitarian programs in Haiti, Jamaica, rural Montana mobile vans, inner-city Seattle homeless shelters, and long-term care facilities.

When not in the office, Dr. Quidwai can be found out on the trails in Tahoe, mountain biking, skiing, or hiking with family, friends, and her two yellow Labrador retrievers.

Lancette

Lancette graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1995 and would love to help you reach your goals for a healthy smile that lasts a lifetime! In addition to her work at Sierra Smiles, Lancette is also a dental hygiene professional coach, a continuing education speaker for dentists and dental hygienists (including developing a continuing education company), the past president of the Nevada Dental Hygienists Association, and was a member of the board of directors for the American Dental Hygienists Association.

Lancette believes strongly in the power of prevention, the importance of complete health dentistry and that all communities should have access to affordable dental care–that’s why she also owns a mobile dentistry practice and has given over 10,000 COVID vaccines.

It’s no wonder she’s been awarded the Nevada Dental Hygienist of the Year and the national Denobi award!
When she is not talking about teeth, she loves to spend time outdoors with her husband, two children, parents, and her siblings.

Rayleen

Rayleen believes in the mouth-body connection and strives to educate as well as give high quality care to her patients. She aspires to make your experience the most beneficial and comfortable it can be through clear communication, visual education, and state of the art technology. She offers thorough screenings, preventative treatment, as well as more extensive cleanings and services that suit your specific needs. She takes pride in her work and will make sure to treat you like family!

Rayleen is from San Luis Obispo, CA and grew up visiting Tahoe regularly for family ski trips. After receiving her dental hygiene degree at San Joaquin Valley College in 2018, Rayleen moved to South Lake Tahoe and has taken pride in serving the Carson City, Reno and Tahoe communities. She can be found snowboarding, mountain biking and enjoying a hike or lake day. She looks forward to meeting you and providing you with excellent care!

Odalys was born and raised in South Lake Tahoe, CA. She received her certification in dental assisting from the National School of Dental Assisting in Carson City, NV. She says the best part of Sierra Smiles is the work culture and she is glad to be a part of the team.

In her free time, Odalys like to spend quality time with her friends and family. She also enjoys exploring the outdoors with her dog Uzi.

Vivianna

Assistant and Recare Coordinator

Viviana graduated in dental assisting at LTCC in 2019. She has been working at Sierra Smiles as a sterilization tech since 2019 and recently moved to the front office.

In her free time she enjoys hiking and spending time with family and friends.

Amber was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah but has called Tahoe home for the last 15 years. She has a certificate in Allied Health and is a Registered Yoga Instructor and incorporates holistic and ayurvedic practices in her day to day life. While she is new to dentistry, she appreciates being in an environment that correlates a healthy mind, and body starting in the mouth for complete care and enjoying learning new things everyday about dentistry. In her free time, she enjoys being outside, enjoying all that Tahoe has to offer and enjoying quality time with loved ones. Amber loves being apart of the team- greeting and educating patients with a smile.

Tara was born and raised in Longview, WA. Before joining the dental field, she spent 11 years working in professional baseball between the Oakland Athletics and Reno Aces. She has the pleasure to work with all three Sierra Smiles’ offices and looks forward to growing and transforming lives through Complete Health Dentistry.

She and her husband, Alex, have two sons. She is an avid fan of sports and enjoys running, golfing, skiing, yard work, and travel.

Michelle has been in dental for almost 20 years and works as the billing manager for the billing team that covers all 3 of the Sierra Smiles practices. She loves how all of the Sierra Smiles team members go above and beyond to make sure that everyone from the patients to other team members have the best experience.

When not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Ken, and spending time with their blended family of 3 children and two grandchildren
